چکیده
In a survey that included the same question about refusing service to gay and lesbian people due religious beliefs in two different batteries, some respondents offered answers. We probe framing issues inherent each battery find support for declines when is context of other group refusals could be considered civil rights issues. Additionally, inconsistent responses are also related order. posit randomization can lead what appear fluctuations attitudes but may, fact, capturing effects. This has implications both design process substantive findings.

Using Mimicry to learn about Phonology
We often think of intonational phonology in terms of discrete entities: accents which fall into just a few categories (Gussenhoven 1999; Ladd 1996; Beckman and Ayers Elam 1997). In this view, accents in intonation correspond to phonemes in segmental phonology (except that they cover a larger interval). They have a rough correspondence to the acoustic properties of the relevant region and they a...
متن کاملUsing Simulation to Learn about Inference
Many statistics educators use simulation to help students better understand inference. Simulations make the link between statistics and probability explicit through simulating the conditions of the null hypothesis, and then looking at sampling distributions of an appropriate measure. In this paper we review how we use simulation to help understand hypothesis testing, and lay out the relevant st...
متن کاملUsing Mimicry to Learn about Mental Representations
Phonology typically describes speech in terms of discrete signs like features. The field of intonational phonology uses discrete accents to describe intonation and prosody. But, are such representations useful? The results of mimicry experiments indicate that discrete signs are not a useful representation of the shape of intonation contours. Human behaviour seems to be better represented by a a...
متن کاملFundamental questions about water rights and market reallocation
[1] Water markets have many advantages for water reallocation. However, water markets do not always function efficiently because the property rights structure was not designed for market transactions. The potential for successful markets can be determined by looking at the 10 fundamental questions relevant to water rights. The questions are relevant to any system of water rights, but the exampl...

two groups of students were assigned as experimental and control ones, and were given instruction on directed reading-thinking activities and after some treatment, they were post-tested. although the initial pre-test did not show any significant differences, the final post-test result revealed that the cooperative reading comprehension helped the experimental group. the cooperative students’...
